East Malaysian employment passes are typically issued for duration of 1 year or longer. These passes are generally issued to individuals who are employed in skilled, professional or managerial positions.

WORK PERMIT FOR GENERAL WORKER
Work permits to bring in non-professional general workers are issued for duration of 1 year. The passes are generally issued to individuals employed in logging, plantation, farming and food industries.
TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT PASS / VISIT PASS
Temporary Employment Pass or Visit Pass are issued for a period of 6 months or less. These permits issued to individuals who work as commissioning, project, interns, trainers or specialist staff.
